Here at Smart-Watt we will design and build a tailor-made solar PV system that fits your wants and needs. A solar system is a big investment to make for a home owner or business, and should be given the care and attention such an undertaking demands. We do not hard sell, nor do we use substandard materials and equipment. We only use the best! We do not offer 'standard packages' nor provide quotes without a survey being conducted.
We do not employ salespeople, our engineers are the ones to survey for new installations and will assess feasibility and the best options for you and your property.
If you would like us to design a system for you please get in touch and an engineer can attend to survey your property and talk to you about your options.
With soaring energy prices, generating your own electricity on-site offers lucrative returns. Some tariffs reach 35p per kWh domestically and even higher for commercial use. Installing a solar array allows you to utilize generated power for free and sell excess energy to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee, creating an additional income.
A 5KW south-facing solar array can produce an average of 4000 kWh annually, offsetting household energy consumption. Despite power usage occurring after dark or power being generated whilst not at home, there are still options available to help with being more energy self-sufficient. To address nighttime power needs, consider battery storage technology. Additionally The SEG scheme facilitates selling surplus power back to the grid when you produce more than you use.
Learn more about maximizing savings with a combined solar and battery installation:
The SEG scheme offers an incredible opportunity, with the potential to earn up to 15 pence per kWh exported. Imagine getting rewarded for the excess energy your solar panels produce! It's like turning your rooftop into a mini power plant, earning you money while helping the environment. With this scheme, you not only save on your electricity bills but also contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
Whilst you are generating your own electricity at home you are saving money by not buying it from the energy companies. Couple that with your export payments and you are looking at making quite a large saving each month.
Typically we expect to see these savings amount to paying back the cost of the system within 6 to 10 years depending on many different factors.
The Best parts comes after this point. When your solar system starts netting you a profit. A solar system is designed to last a home owner 25 to 30 years, which means that once the system has paid for itself it can then start bagging you some returns. even on smaller domestic systems these returns can reach the 10s of thousands of pounds over it's lifetime.

A south facing roof is desirable, but not essential. Solar can still work great without having to face southward. many options are available to help you get the most out of what you have available.
Pretty much! barring some extreme scenarios, there's ways of utilizing nearly any roof for solar. whether it's a flat roof, pitched roof, metal, slate, fiber-cement. the technology exists!
Absolutely! Power optimization units can be fitted to each panel which allows them to produce independently of each other rather than as a 'string' of panels linked together. This, in many cases, is enough to combat the worst effects of shading on the array.
Most definitely. Some properties are limited to where solar can be installed as the roof might not be suitable due to roof lights, dormer windows, chimneys etc. In cases like this a ground mounted system is often the best solution.
